Burn my Shallow Ground plays Industrial/Gothic Metal with dark and emotional lyrics. Intertextualities to writers and poets of the genre are built into the artful poetry of Burn my Shallow Ground.
Heavy synths are underpinning the drive and groove of the drums and guitars, but also bringing additional athmosphere into the sound.
Vocally the music is driven by Dom's dark, rough and mysterious vocals paired with beautiful background tunes.
Dom, guitarist, analog synth entusiast and singer established Burn my Shallow Ground in 2024 to foster creativity without any boundaries. Working together with great musicians, producers and mixing/mastering engineers from the genre, Burn my Shallow Ground enables me to focus on the artful and creative aspects of my music.
Burn my Shallow Ground will be releasing regularly. Stay tuned and follow the signs!
The first releases will be based on the lyrical theme of Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea". Of course lyrics will always be subjective and everyone will feel, understand and experience them differently. Also mixed with the lyrical theme no one can argue against certain personal feelings and emotional drives complementing them and making it more being inspired by, than an intertextual copy of the original theme. However, lyrics are not only for those who wrote them, just get yourself inspired and interpret them with your own very history.
Musically Burn my Shallow Ground is using heavy instrumentations full of guitars and anaologue synths - plus of course... right into the face drums. The symbiose of guitars and synths gives a very condensed and strong athmosphere to the songs. Heavy industrial analogue synths build the ground for the sound Burn my Shallow Ground is offering.
Burn my Shallow Ground is actively using social media channels to keep touch with you and give you the chance to give eedback to us. And even be part of our creative process. We'll also be giving you the opportunity soon to have pre-listening sessions and become a part of our journey.
Here's some video snippets from the creative process. It's a lot of studio time to get material together and craft the foundation for Burn my Shallow Ground.
It is so exciting when things come to shape. I received the first drum tracks and it just blew my mind. There's nothing to top real drums.
That's how work looks like during the creation process. A lot of time spent in the Studio.
Just some insights into work in progress. Trying to make something athmospheric.
